Taxi from Pattaya to Bangkok airport

This is the trip most people book. Pattaya to Suvarnabhumi costs the same as our Bangkok to Pattaya fare, from ฿1,100, and the airport sits right on Motorway 7, so there is no city traffic to fight at the end. Allow about two hours, and more on Sunday afternoons and at the end of long weekends. Don Mueang is on the far side of Bangkok, so leave earlier if you fly from there.

More detail on timing and the return run is on our Pattaya to Bangkok page.

Pattaya airport taxi: U-Tapao

When people say Pattaya airport they usually mean U-Tapao (UTP), about 40 km south near Sattahip. A car from U-Tapao to Pattaya starts at ฿700 and takes about 45 minutes. Our U-Tapao to Pattaya guide covers the airport, Jomtien drops and the onward run to Bangkok.

Baht bus, Bolt and Grab, or a private car?

Be honest with yourself about the trip. Inside town, a private transfer is rarely worth it. For airports and long runs, it usually is. Third-party prices below are approximate, so check before you go.

  • A long airport trip on an app can be cancelled or repriced if the driver does not want the distance.
  • Baht buses are great value for getting around, not for carrying two large cases.
  • Groups of four or more often pay less per person in an SUV or van than on separate tickets.

Day trips and sightseeing

If you are based in Bangkok and only want a taste of Pattaya, a day car is simpler than a one-way taxi each way. Our Pattaya day trip from Bangkok covers stops like the Sanctuary of Truth and Nong Nooch Garden.

How to book a Pattaya transfer

  • Give the full hotel name or a map pin. Pattaya, Naklua, Jomtien and Na Jomtien are different pickups.
  • For flights, give your departure time so the pickup leaves room for Motorway 7 traffic.
  • For ferries, tell us which boat you aim for. Piers have last departures and we plan around them.
  • Count bags honestly and pick the SUV or van tier if they will not fit a small taxi.
